Archaeology Online has grown to be the biggest German internet site for archaeological subjects since the year 2000. This portal shall enable easy access to current subjects and problems of archaeology in its total bandwidth - without disregarding the fun factor.

Started as an commercial project, Archaeology Online is being maintained on a voluntary basis since 2002. All work is done in the spare time of its initiators. To ensure the future development of the site we founded the Archaeology Online Club.

By becoming a member you can support the project an participate in the further development of this platform. As a registered member of Archaeology Online you already can make use of some functions that are not available to other (unregistered) visitors. If you decide to become a member of the Archaeology Online Club you can furthermore access additional functions of this portal and other benefits (see below) that are exclusively available to club members.

Your annual member fee of 20 € supports not only the further operation and extension of Archaeology Online but also the extension of the benefits for you as a member.

It is nearly impossible to subscribe to all of them or even to leaf through. »Blickpunkt Archäologie« keeps you informed about the diverse archaeological top stories of the most important public popular science magazines in Germany.

»Archäologie in Deutschland« reduced subscription

»Archäologie in Deutschland« berichtet alle zwei Monate über aktuelle Forschungen und Entdeckungen. Der Schwerpunkt liegt - wie der Name schon sagt - auf der Archäologie in deutschen Landen. Neben Berichten zu Projekten mit deutscher Beteiligung in Ausland findet man hier auch regelmäßig Berichte zu aktuellen Forschungen in ganz Europa. Mitglieder des Archäologie Online Clubs haben die Möglichkeit, das bekannte Archäologie-Magazin aus dem Theiss Verlag zum ermäßigten Preis zu abonnieren.

„Dazu gibt's doch was, aber wo stand das ...“ Wenn man sich nicht mehr an das genaue Zitat erinnert, lassen sich einzelnen Artikel in den verschiedenen wissenschaftlichen und populärwissenschaftlichen Zeitschriften nur schwer "aufspüren". Viele Herausgeber von Zeitschriften gehen aber mittlerweile dazu über, zumindest die neueren Inhaltsverzeichnisse im Internet zu publizieren. Unsere Suchmaschine durchsucht gezielt diese Inhaltverzeichnisse und, wenn vorhanden, auch die Zusammenfassungen der Artikel von deutschsprachigen und internationalen Zeitschriften zur Archäologie. Artikel oder Themen lassen sich so recht schnell recherchieren.
